I calibrated Dirac Live within a Lexicon MC10 Processor for a customer in London as part of their discrete 5.2 system featuring speakers from Wisdom Audio installed behind fabric, dual REL HT1508 Predator subwoofer, an Acurus M8 multi channel amplifier, an 88″ Samsung TV and an Nvidia Shield being fed from a custom built movie library computer running PLEX.
Meeting the customer he made me aware that he likes to watch music concerts with two in particular being his favourites The Eagles and Sting. What was interesting and presented the challenge was how both of these blu rays have been mastered and how that would effect the whole calibration leading me to take a different approach to normal.
After I managed to find the best sweet spot of bass I had to manage the mids and treble to balance the system overall which took sometime as well trying to get as much clarity out of the system as possible without introducing any negative side effects like harshness.
