I calibrated Dirac Live within an Arcam AVR 30 AV Receiver powering a 5.3.2 Atmos system featuring Elac Debut Reference speakers, with three Elac subwoofers and a very lovely LJ 77″ OLED, the legendary Oppo 203 all sat on an Atacama Evoque rack.

The customer used the system mainly for TV and Movie watching so I concentrated my main calibration time on this aspect of the systems performance. The speakers and subwoofers worked well in the room and gave me a decent starting point once I have been into the subwoofer settings and corrected them and a few other things. Having three subwoofers in this room really made all the difference as it allowed to me to use the front two to create the bass foundation and then use the rear sub to add the punch and feel to the bass. I think this worked perfectly with the way the subwoofers have been designed.

At the end of the calibration I checked two channel sound quality and balanced the subwoofer bass specifically for music using the dedicated controls and music two channel was sounding very nice, as was multi channel stereo which is a very nice sound mode on the new Arcams, JBL and other AV products with the similar brain and processing.
Overall the system was sounding fantastic, particularly for movies, very visceral and physical but also very real world not taking it too extreme.
