I calibrated Dirac Live within an Arcam AVR30 AV Receiver as part of a very lovely Home Cinema system featuring all Bowers & Wilkins speakers and subwoofers with the highlight speakers being the 802 D3 with a Sony 4K Projector and drop down projector screen
The challenge of this calibration was the room itself, which despite a lot of soft furnishings still sounded quite lively and that with the Bowers speakers lively sound really was the reason I was there.
I started by undoing the auto correction that had been applied by the Bowers app for the subwoofers because I had no way of knowing what it had done and it seemed to set one of the subwoofers out of phase with the other.
This gave me a better starting point, I then cleverly managed the sound of the Bowers speakers to keep their lively sound but tone it down some to sound better in this room, I integrated the subwoofers to be seamless and really hard hitting for their size and I tied the whole systems sound together much better.
The customer commented about my recent article about the Arcams Multi Channel Stereo mode being really good, he listened to music in normal stereo and multi channel stereo and he agreed with me, its a great sound mode.
