I calibrated Dirac Live within an Arcam AVR40 Processor for a customer with a really nice Dolby Atmos Home Cinema system featuring Tannoy speakers, REL S/812 Subwoofer, Primare Amplification and other toys. .
The customer likes to listen to music using the Multi Channel Stereo sound mode within the Arcam AV40, this is a very interesting mode that is very engaging to listen to when a system is setup very well. I spent the initial few hours working on the sound of the system for music before moving onto concentrating on the movie sound
I spent a good few hours working through different test material (as I always do) working on finding the optimum overall balance for the system. This is a process of tweaking settings within the Arcam to first make bass totally integrated but as impactful as possible, then the front soundstage has to have enough presence, finally the rear and Atmos soundstage have to have evenness from left to right but also front to back has to balance as well. I worked very hard at this and the end result was really worth it.
